Good afternoon-
Having a problem- don't know if it is solvable. In our library, we have 2 multimedia workstations that have Pioneer CD Jukeboxes attached. (Both running Win 3.X at moment, pushed to bottom of the upgrade list when we did everything else for Y2K) Now Win 3.x dosesn't seek to validate disks in each slot when the system starts, only looks for a disk when the program starts and looks for it.
Win 9.X on the other hand, insists on looking at each slot, even if autorun is turned off. It also insists on doing this when magazines are changed. That makes the system almost unusable, since you have to wait several minutes for the load/unload cycle to complete.
Any ideas? I have been holding off on doing the upgrade for as long as I can, but if this problem can't be resolved, we're kind of stuck.
David Brennan,
Coord., Lib. Svcs.
SFMC, Pittsburgh

: Good afternoon-

: Having a problem- don't know if it is solvable.
: Win 9.X on the other hand, insists on looking at each slot, even if autorun is turned off. It also insists on doing this when magazines are changed. That makes the system almost unusable, since you have to wait several minutes for the load/unload cycle to complete.
: Any ideas? I have been holding off on doing the upgrade for as long as I can, but if this problem can't be resolved, we're kind of stuck.
